11 We stopped by here for lunch drawn by the interesting cacao forward menu. I had the tuna tartare for my main and a side of plantain chips. I wasn’t a fan of the tartare - it was gelatinous and a bit off putting. However, my partner enjoyed the pappardelle entree.
Now, let’s talk desserts. These are truly exceptional and a must. I had a hard time deciding since everything sounded delicious so I asked the waiter for his recommendation. He told me to go with the Rabot Marquise and boy was he right. The combination of mouse and crunchy crust with smooth ice cream was perfect. My partner had the Citrus Groves and of course I had to try it. The passion fruit mousse was everything. In fact, I bet it would pair nicely with a chocolate dessert as well (new menu item?).
The service and views were outstanding! Overall a nice experience.
Get me another star or two and I'll add to this place.
A must visit every time I'm in town!
Resort gourmet meal. King fish was excellent. View is spectacular. Pricey. Parking was easy for dinner.
What a beautiful restaurant! I suggest going there a little early and enjoying some drinks at the bar. Their alcoholic beverages were definitely a highlight for myself and my husband. All drinks were unique and had some form of cacao/chocolate in it. My favorite was the espresso martini. For food, we received complimentary bread with 3 different dipping “sauces”- all very good! For appetizers, we enjoyed their sharing platter. And for entrees, my husband had their club Caesar and I had the ribeye. All were very tasty- and yes, as others have mentioned…pretty expensive. But both my husband and I agreed it was worth it for the the ambience and experience. The only negative for our dinner was our choice to order a side of the white chocolate mashed potatoes. They did not taste good and were over whipped. Besides that, the service was wonderful and we enjoyed our dinner!
Probably our favorite fine dining experience on the island. Refined but unpretentious. A unique menu incorporating Cacao into local dishes. We had the chicken dish and vegetarian Wellington. Both very well done with refined flavors.
Very expensive place to eat dinner but view of Pitons at sunset is worth it. Food is fine but not worth the price, especially at $20 per dessert. We really enjoyed the dipping sauces and bread at the start.
The view of petit piton from the restaurant is unbeatable. That alone makes this place a must on your dining tour of st lucia. All of the desserts and drinks involving chocolate were also superb. The food itself was good (but not incredible). Overall, the ambiance and chocolate make this a really cool and unforgettable experience.
Fabulous food and a lovely location. Dropped a star because they ignored us for the first 10 mins stood waiting for someone to show us to our table (yes we booked). The staff looked at us a few times but seemed in no hurry to come and say hello. Bit awkward when they did finally come over as we were clearly a bit miffed. We watched as they did the same thing to two other couples.
Went back again - the ignoring new arrivals was the same issue - so this is a consistent problem.
If not for that they would be five star. Food is much better than at Ladera over the road.
I ate at the restaurant on site tonight, Rabot, and I have to say, it was incredible.
The site itself is breathtaking. It's the prettiest restaurant I've ever been to.
The thing that makes this place stand out even more is that it's located in a Cacao farm and estate. Every appetizer, every entrée, every dessert, even the cocktails, all find ways to incorporate cacao. I hesitated in this concept, but after trying everything, I am blown away. The inclusion of cacao doesn't make everything taste like chocolate, but instead works to elevate and add complexity and depth to the flavors. It was incredible. I can't say enough about this menu. I would recommend for anyone traveling to Saint lucia to seek out Rabot at Hotel Chocolat outside Sofreire. I would even recommend it as a destination just to travel to this country for foodies looking to experience something new, exciting, and totally memorable.
Ate dinner here and the pure creativity amazed me. Almost every single dish has cacao or chocolate incorporated in some way and it’s amazing how well it works. From the starter bread with cacao butter to mashed potatoes with a hi t of white chocolate, it’s all truly incredible.
